Build-to-rent

A residential-led development of 391 apartments with extensive residents' amenity

Drum purchased Evolution House, an office based on Springwell Road in the northern part of Holbeck, Leeds in the summer of 2023.

Drum’s proposals for the plot aim to redevelop the entire site and create a residential-led development to be known as Whitehall Sidings. Drum submitted a planning application to Leeds City Council for its first major residential scheme in the city in May 2024.

The application proposal comprises 391 build-to-rent apartments varying between one, two and three bedrooms with extensive residents’ amenity provision including a diverse range of family focused spaces, ground floor commercial space and an active frontage and surround of engaging play and recreation space.

Whitehall Sidings has the potential to repurpose an urban brownfield site and deliver a diverse mix of homes, complemented with extensive indoor and outdoor amenity. The new community at Whitehall Sidings will expand the emerging residential neighbourhood along Springwell Road, whilst helping provide much-needed residential accommodation within Holbeck.

Subject to planning consents, Drum hope to be on site in early 2025.
