Leeds Planning Application Submitted
Drum has submitted a planning application to Leeds City Council for its first major residential scheme in the city. The proposals aim to re-develop the existing site of Evolution House, an office based on Springwell Road in the northern part of Holbeck, to create a residential-led development to be known as Whitehall Sidings.
Drum’s proposal comprises 391 build-to-rent apartments varying between one, two and three bedrooms with extensive residents’ amenity provision including a diverse range of family focused spaces, ground floor commercial space and an active frontage and surround of engaging play and recreation space.
Graeme Bone, Group Managing Director of Drum said: “Whitehall Sidings has the potential to repurpose an urban brownfield site and deliver a diverse mix of homes, complemented with extensive indoor and outdoor amenity.
The new community at Whitehall Sidings will expand the emerging residential neighbourhood along Springwell Road, whilst helping provide much-needed residential accommodation within Holbeck.
We are looking forward to fulfilling the development vision we had for the site when purchased last year, and subject to planning consents, would hope to be on site in early 2025.”
