Lloyd’s Register Set for Prime Four.
The Lloyd’s Register Group (LR) is the latest world class energy services company to select the Prime Four business park at Kingswells, Aberdeen as the location for its North East Scotland operations.
The global engineering, technical and business services organisation, which operates across the globe with over 9,000 employees, has taken a 15-year tenancy at the park from September 2017 (subject to planning consents). Its 100,000 square feet purpose built office complex will have capacity for up to 900 employees, bringing the total number of workers based at Prime Four to over 3,500 by the middle of 2017.
A detailed planning application on behalf of Lloyd’s Register EMEA has now been submitted and will be considered shortly by Aberdeen City Council. Subject to planning consent, the new facility will be built to the company's specifications by park developers Drum Property Group, with construction beginning by late 2015.
LR provides professional services – independent assurance and expert advice – to companies operating high-risk, capital-intensive assets in the energy and transportation sectors. Through its business assurance services, LR helps companies manage their systems and risks across a wide range of sectors.
The move will collocate LR Energy’s existing operations in Aberdeen with LR Senergy’s workforce in the North East of Scotland. In September 2013 LR made its largest ever investment in global energy services company Senergy to expand its range of technical assurance and consulting services to the oil and gas sector.
