Drum Secures Leeds Consent
Drum has secured planning consent from Leeds City Council for its first major residential scheme in the city. The approval will allow Drum to re-develop the existing site of Evolution House, an office based on Springwell Road in the northern part of Holbeck, to create a 27-storey residential-led development featuring 391 apartments.
The new development, which will be known as Whitehall Sidings, will comprise a total of 195 one-bedroom, 159 two-bedroom and 37 three-bedroom apartments, together with ground floor commercial space including work space, family areas, a wellness suite and a bike store. The 12th floor will host a residents amenity space, lounge and private dining areas opening out onto a roof terrace, with further residents’ amenity space on the 26th floor.
Graeme Bone, Group Managing Director of Drum, said:
“We are excited to bring our vision for Whitehall Sidings to life – transforming an urban brownfield site into a vibrant community with a diverse mix of homes and exceptional indoor and outdoor amenities.
This development will not only provide much-needed residential accommodation but also contribute to the growth of the emerging mixed-use neighbourhood along Whitehall Road, further enhancing the area’s character and appeal.”
